Lesson 1.4: Installing & Activating the Yoast Plugin
Steps to install the free Yoast SEO plugin:
- Login to your WordPress dashboard.
- Go to Plugins > Add New.
- Type “Yoast SEO” into the search bar.
- Click Install Now next to the correct result.
- Click Activate once installed.
What happens next?
- A new “SEO” tab appears in your dashboard.
- Yoast starts analyzing your pages and posts.
- A setup wizard is offered for first-time users.
Common installation issues:
- Plugin conflicts (disable others temporarily)
- WordPress not updated (update core before installing)
