Lesson 5.2: Managing Indexing Settings in Yoast
What is indexing?
It’s the process of allowing Google to include your pages/posts in its search results.
How to control it in Yoast:
- Go to any post/page → scroll to Yoast meta box
- Click Advanced (⚙️ icon) → Change “Allow search engines to show this Post in search results?” to:
- Yes = index
- No = noindex
When to use noindex:
- Thank you pages
- Duplicate content
- Internal-only pages
Why it matters:
Controlling indexing helps you keep unimportant pages out of Google’s search results, improving your overall SEO quality.
